Good morning :-)

How are you doing, my dear reader? I am just fine, if a bit slowed down after a great start of the week. Old self-sabotaging habits creep in and I decided to dedicating today to overcoming them for now :-)

However, today is dedicated to something far more important as well, as it is my and Mr. H´s first wedding anniversary! I love you my precious one! :-)

So today I will do some stuff around that needs to be done, write about progress in my 1000 challenge and in the evening, go for a nice dinner with my darling :-)

Dear reader, I may have taken a little break from here, but went on with the challenge! :-)  Last few days saw me:

14. 45 minutes of cardio and strenght training.

15. A looong relaxing bath and a short tanning session on Friday afternoon.

16. Rewritten one of my school papers.

17. 50 mins on stepper first thing Saturday morning.

18. Small cleaning of things that needed to be done instead of waiting for them to become a big cleaning :-)

19. Long walk with my husband on Saturday evening.

20. A sweet little present for mom :-)

21. Created new workout plan that should be suitable for my body type, starting later today :-)

Ariane´s tip

I get Ariane´s tip on various aspects of life into my inbox, and lots of them are helpful, either giving me new ideas or making me thing more about things I already know, like the following sentence:

Don’t think of your fitness routine as taking time from other activities. Think of it as enhancing the rest of your life.

A thought…

This was in my inbox today:

We must guard, though, that we aren’t using service to others as a means to get our own ego needs met. If we are, we would be wise to meet our own needs first so our interactions with others are not primarily self-serving.

Dear reader, how many times have we done something just so some person would thank us and like us and think his or hers life would suck without us? Wouldn’t it be better to satisfy our needs first and then be more open and of better use for our friends and families? Next time I am in this position, I will try and openly ask “Do you love me?” “Do you value our relationship?” “Am I a good friend for you?”

I keep going :-)

Yesterday I told my husband that I am glad I thought about this challenge. Instead of thinking of all things I should be doing, I think more about what could I do to get a point :-) So last two days:

9. Working out 30 minutes first thing in the morning on Wednesday.

10. Walked home from work on Wednesday.

11. Got us an appointment with the dentist.

12. Went for a walk after dinner with my husband instead of dozing off in front of TV.

13. Finished reading the first of manual-type documents for my new job.

Another few :-)

Yesterday, I put down few points in my challenge :-) I am progressing!

4. Talked to mom and offered some specific help with her troubles.

5. Watched “Wall Street” – don´t laugh! It teaches you a little bit :-)

6. Put the laundry away right away, not in two weeks, as was usual.

7. Eating according to my hunger, I happened to have three square meals, no snacks.

8. Before sleep, doing full body exfoliation followed by thorough hydration.

1000 “Challenge”

Dear reader, as I said, I like challenges of different sorts, especially when they revolve around lists and countdowns. And this challenge of mine will consists on consciously trying to do smaller or bigger steps bringing me closer to my goals, until there is a 1000 of them. I would like to put here the things of the day everyday and then, when there is a 1000 of them, re-evaluate my situation and check the goals :-) OK, so yesterday, I did:

1. Made some unpleasant work phone calls.

2. Made up with my friend.

3. Did a 45 minutes stair-machine workout.

Action

This was in my inbox today:

“If doubt is challenging you and you do not act, doubts will grow. Challenge the doubts with action and you will grow. Doubt and action are incompatible.”

– John Kanary

Oh well…

Dear reader, changing a job really is a cathartic experience. At least, for me it was. I could not imagine how much pain, complications and troubles it creates, when your boss is your friend and is as inexperienced in these things as you are. Continue Reading »
